Martin Roesch

Martin Roesch is a prominent figure in the technology and cybersecurity sectors, currently serving as Head of Cloud at Vectra AI since September 2025. As the original author of the Snort open-source project, Martin has a long-standing influence in cybersecurity dating back to November 1998. Prior roles include CEO at Netography from August 2021 to September 2025 and extensive leadership at ThreatQuotient as a board member from September 2016 to June 2025. Martin has held director positions at SynSaber and Oort and served as a founder advisor at Decibel Partners. Prior to these roles, Martin was the Chief Architect for Cisco's Security Business Group and held the CEO/CTO position at Sourcefire, which became part of Cisco. Educational background includes a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University, awarded in 1993.
