Begona Carreno-Gomez has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Begona currently holds the position of Chief Business Development Officer at Vectura Fertin Pharma, starting in March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Novartis in various roles, including World Wide Head BD&L Ophthalmology (September 2019 - February 2023), World Wide Head BD&L Respiratory (September 2016 - September 2019), and Global Head of Search & Evaluation Primary Care (November 2011 - August 2016), among others. Before joining Novartis, Begona worked at Almirall, where they were responsible for External Pharmaceutical Projects from 2000 to 2004. Begona also has a background as a PhD student at The School of Pharmacy, University of London, from 1993 to 1998.
Begona Carreno-Gomez obtained their PhD and postdoc in Drug Delivery from The School of Pharmacy, University of London from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their BSc in Biochemistry & Chemistry at Keele University from 1989 to 1993. Begona attended SUNION for their secondary school education from 1986 to 1989.
