Kristiana Kuneva

Business Development Manager at The Recursive

Kristiana Kuneva has a diverse work experience in various organizations and roles.

From 2022 onwards, they have been working as a Business Development Manager at The Recursive.

Kristiana previously worked at UNICEF as an Access to Justice Consultant from December 2020 to May 2022. In this role, they evaluated and improved mechanisms for child protection, facilitated access to juvenile justice for vulnerable children, and monitored the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Bulgaria.

Before that, they served as a Customer Success Manager at PAZ from October 2021 to January 2022.

Kristiana also worked at the Council of Europe as a Guest Speaker in March 2020.

From 2017 to 2019, they were the Campaign & Policy Coordinator at New Europeans, where they managed communication with governmental and European Parliament officials on European citizenship rights and human rights protection, developed campaigns for Brexit negotiations, and proposed the Green Card for securing freedom of movement for third country nationals post-Brexit.

In 2018, they worked as the EPFG on Citizens' Rights Coordinator at the European Parliament.

From February to October 2017, they were a Project Coordinator at the European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM), responsible for organizing projects on topics like anti-racism and gender tolerance, as well as researching and identifying funding opportunities.

Kristiana started their career as an Executive Assistant at MyLifeMySay, where they helped establish a society at King's College London and later became one of the executive assistants to the CEO. Kristiana worked there from September 2015 to September 2016.

Kristiana also gained experience as a trainee at the Council of Europe in September and October 2015, focusing on undocumented migrants in Europe. Additionally, they interned as a volunteer at UNICEF Bulgaria from July to September 2015, conducting research on children's rights in Bulgaria and performing administrative tasks.

Kristiana Kuneva completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Politics at King's College London from 2013 to 2016. Kristiana then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Rights at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2019 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, Kristiana has obtained several certifications in various fields. Kristiana received a certification in ESG Risks and Opportunities from the University of Pennsylvania in January 2022. In June 2021, they completed the 2021 NHRI Academy program offered by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). In January 2021, they obtained certifications in Emergency Child Protection Programming in the ECA Region, Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and Strategies to strengthen the Social Service Workforce for Child Protection, all from UNICEF. In October 2020, they completed the UN CMCoord eCourse on Working in Complex Emergencies and Working in Natural Disasters offered by the United Nations OCHA.
