Marcis Lakstigala has a diverse work experience. Marcis is currently the Co-Founder & CTO of Vegshelf, where they are responsible for the technological development of the marketplace. Marcis'stasks included creating product roadmaps, analyzing applicable regulations, project planning and execution, test scope definition, product testing, test result analysis, coordination with senior stakeholders, and market and technology scanning.
From 2018 to 2019, Marcis served as the Curator for Global Shaper Düsseldorf Hub at Global Shapers Community. Marcis'sresponsibilities included organizing regular hub activities, supporting hub members with ongoing projects, and developing the hub through undertaking new projects. The Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people working together to address local, regional, and global challenges.
Marcis also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at GE Oil & Gas from 2013 to 2014. During this time, they designed various parts and assemblies for pipeline inspection equipment, verified designs through CAD software and 3D printing, and ensured compliance with relevant legislative requirements and standards.

Marcis Lakstigala obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle University, where they studied from 2010 to 2015. In 2012, they also completed a Certificate of Completion in Automotive Engineering from Nagoya University. Prior to their studies at Newcastle University, Marcis attended Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) from 2009 to 2010, although they did not receive a degree from this institution.
