Andrew Wallace CEng is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in vehicle type approval and certification processes. Currently serving as the Head of Partner Operations at the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) UK since October 2017, Andrew previously held the position of Certification Manager for Powertrain at Jaguar Land Rover from August 2012 to October 2017. Prior roles include Senior Engineer at VCA UK from January 2003 to August 2012 and Development Engineer at Prodrive from 2000 to 2003. Andrew's background also includes work as a Project Support Engineer at Perkins Diesel Engines. Andrew holds a 2.1 degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, obtained in 2000.

We are an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport and exist to improve vehicle safety and environmental protection by providing robust testing and certification to internationally recognised standards. Designated by the Secretary of State to discharge their statutory responsibility for operating national and UNECE type approval schemes, we approve most categories of new vehicles from locations in the UK and overseas. We have also been designated to act as the UK authority for the certification of packaging and intermediate bulk containers used for the transport of dangerous goods. With more than 40 years’ experience, we have become one of the largest and well-respected approval bodies around.
