Karen Bells has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Karen started their career as a copy editor, page designer, and reporter for various newspapers, including The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Palm Beach Post, and The Burlington Free Press. During this time, they gained expertise in editing, headline writing, and page design. In 1999, they transitioned to the corporate sector, working as a Senior Creative Writer in the Public Relations Department of Western & Southern Financial Services. Their responsibilities included managing and creating marketing collateral and employee communications. In 2000, they joined the Cincinnati Business Courier as a Senior Editor/Staff Reporter, where they played a prominent role in covering the regional economy, writing business profiles, and contributing to special coverage. Karen then worked as a freelance writer and editor, creating print and digital materials for small businesses and providing communications and content strategy. In 2011, they joined The Cincinnati Enquirer as a Copy Desk Chief, supervising a team and serving as a liaison between editing and production stakeholders. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as an Associate Director of Content at Northlich, with a focus on consumer loyalty marketing. Currently, they are working as a Senior Account Executive at Vehr Communications, where they design and executes integrated marketing communications plans and helps manage crisis response for clients.

Karen Bells attended Mount Notre Dame HS where they received a Diploma, with a focus on Advanced Placement courses.
