Gijs Rurup

Gijs Rurup is an experienced professional in environmental management and safety, currently serving as Adviseur Luchtemissies Industrie at Rijkswaterstaat since September 2022. Rurup has held various roles within Veiligheidsregio Kennemerland since 1999, including Hoofdbrandwacht and Meetplanleider (MPL). Previous positions include Adviseur at STAB from August 2018 to August 2022 and Vergunningverlener Wabo at Omgevingsdienst Noordzeekanaalgebied from January 2014 to August 2018, specializing in environmental permits. Additional experience includes serving as Vergunningverlener for Provincie Noord-Holland from 2001 to 2013 and projectleider at Syncera from 1996 to 2001. Rurup holds a degree in Proces en milieutechniek from IJmond MTS, completed in 1988, and has further education from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
