Alwin Barnes

Alwin Barnes is a skilled Rig Chief Mechanic with extensive experience in the offshore drilling industry. Currently employed at Velesto Energy Berhad since June 2019, Alwin has held similar positions at various companies including Sapura Energy Berhad, Aban Offshore Limited, and Greatship, accumulating significant expertise in rig operations and maintenance. Prior experience includes roles at Dalma Gulf Drilling Company and Ensco plc, where responsibilities encompassed maintenance supervision and engineering. Alwin's career began in 1992 with Arabian Drilling Company, specializing in offshore jack-up rigs. Educational credentials include an Engineer’s Degree from ADC SEDCO FOREX and a mechanical diploma in Marine Maintenance/Fitter and Ship Repair Technology from Malpe Fisheries High School.
