POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director, Production Manufacturing leads our manufacturing operations and oversees teams of managers and technicians. We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven individual to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, from capacity planning, and resource allocation to process optimization and performance management. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of high-tech manufacturing environments to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
NEAR TERM DELIVERABLES – First Year
- Scale current operations in the printer production unit
- Develop and scale new part production team
- Drive implementation of robust manufacturing processes
- Establish a culture focused on product quality and lean manufacturing principals
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and execute capacity and production planning strategies, including workforce, facilities, and materials planning.
- Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) in collaboration with internal stakeholders to align production with business objectives.
- Oversee production schedules, ensuring efficiency and alignment with demand forecasts.
- Drive team development, mentorship, and employee professional growth, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Monitor and optimize performance against key KPIs, including cost, quality, delivery, and budget adherence.
- Partner with Engineering and R&D teams to manage new product introductions and facilitate smooth change management processes.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Certification such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP (Project Management Professional), or APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) can be beneficial
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- 10+ years working in a manufacturing or related engineering or production environment, leading technical teams. Capital equipment manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience operating under ISO9001 or similar Quality Management Systems
- Demonstrated success and track record in scaling production operations for complex mechanical, optical, or electro-mechanical systems, such as semiconductor capital equipment, machine tools, automotive or aviation systems.
- History of reliably executing production targets.
- Track record of successful hiring, mentorship, and talent development and training.
- ERP / PLM Systems proficiency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
