Stephan Zell

Stephan Zell has extensive work experience in various engineering and quality management roles. Stephan is currently the Director of Quality at Velo3D since November 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Quality Engineering at Galvanize Therapeutics, Inc. from September 2022 to November 2023. From June 2018 to September 2022, Stephan served as the Sr. Quality Engineering Manager at SI-BONE, Inc.

Before that, they held multiple positions at Evolve Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. including Director of Engineering and Program Management from July 2017 to March 2018, Manufacturing Engineering Manager from April 2017 to March 2018, and Sr. Manufacturing Engineer from February 2017 to April 2017.

Stephan also worked as a Sr. Quality Engineer at Cepheid from March 2016 to December 2016 and as a Staff Manufacturing Engineer at Lam Research from August 2011 to March 2016.

Earlier in their career, they held the position of Engineering Manager (Semi, Medical, Solar, Flat Panel) at Ultra Clean Technology from April 2005 to September 2011. Stephan also worked at Novellus Systems as an Engineering Change Control Manager from June 2002 to October 2005, Sr. Manufacturing Engineer from June 2000 to June 2002, and Supplier Quality Engineer from May 1999 to June 2000.

Stephan started their career as a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at United Airlines from May 1990 to May 1998.

Stephan Zell attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1983 to 1987, where they studied Mechanical Engineering. Before that, they completed their high school education at Petaluma High School. In 2021, they obtained a certification in ISO 13485:2016 Lead Auditor Training from Oriel STAT A MATRIX.
