Meira Shapiro has an extensive work experience spanning from 2008 to 2022. Meira began their career as a Substitute Teacher at the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach in 2008. In 2012, they took on the role of Direct Care Worker at Yachad, where they were responsible for leading and assisting individuals in life skills workshops, social skills workshops, and vocational skills trainings. In 2014, they became the Office Manager at City Process Servers, where they handled data entry and ensured that all of the information regarding each case was entered flawlessly onto a process serving computer program. In 2016, they were a Paralegal at the Law Offices of Philip J Rizzuto PC, where they obtained clients' medical records for personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases. Finally, in 2022, they were an Underwriting & CEO Assistant at Velocity Capital Group and a Community Health Worker Supervisor at the Jewish Community Council of the Rockaway Peninsula - JCCRP, where they supervised a team of 9 community health workers, facilitated outreach to the Rockaway Peninsula area, and collaborated relationships with community partners.
