João Abade

João Abade is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the diagnostics and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as the Business Lead for DX at Velsera, João oversees end users and distributors in Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. Previously, João held the position of Territory Business Manager at Velsera, where responsibility included managing accounts in Iberia, Italy, and France. Prior to that, João contributed to Illumina as a Senior Clinical Account Manager and played a key role in business development at SOPHiA GENETICS. Early career experiences include positions as Cabin Crew at Ryanair and research internships focusing on molecular biology and genetic toxicology. João's academic credentials include a PG diploma in Marketing from The University of British Columbia and a Master's in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Lisbon, along with additional studies in film and genetic toxicology.
