Lisa Block

Lisa Block is an experienced executive specializing in conference strategy and design. Since March 2019, Lisa has served as the Executive Vice President at Velvet Chainsaw Consulting. Prior to this role, Lisa was the Vice President of Events at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) from April 1990 to April 2019, where leadership included planning and implementing meetings and conferences while managing a department of 12 and participating on the Senior Management Team. Earlier experience includes positions as Meetings Manager at both the American Association of University Women (AAUW) from 1987 to 1990 and the National Council for International Health from 1985 to 1987. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Trinity College-Hartford, completed in 1980, and attended The Madeira School from 1971 to 1976.
