Dave Elkins

Functional Manager / Systems Engineer Technical LEAD at Vencore, Inc.

Dave Elkins has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Dave began their career in 2006 as a Wing Plans and Programs Manager in the United States Air Force, where they were responsible for creating off-the-shelf organizational plans and coordinating resources for disaster response initiatives. Dave later served as a Manager of Quality Assurance and a Flight Commander, overseeing pilot training and development. In 2011, Dave became an Assistant Director of Operations, supervising combat aircrews and ensuring their readiness for missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa. Dave then transitioned to roles in the USAF's Operations Group, where they served as the Logistics Senior Manager and the Commander's Action Group Senior Manager, providing consultative support to the base commander and managing a large workforce. In 2015, Dave joined Vencore Inc. as a Readiness Systems Engineer, responsible for assessing system performance and generating reports and briefings for government review. Currently, they serve as a Functional Manager and Systems Engineer Technical Lead at Vencore Inc., overseeing a team of system engineers and managing the documentation of enterprise mission requirements. Throughout their career, Dave has demonstrated strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Dave Elkins earned a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from West Virginia University. Dave pursued further education and completed a Master of Science degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Trident University International. Dave also holds additional certifications, including ITIL Certified and SAFe Agilest Certified.
