Werner Burger

Werner Burger has extensive experience in commercial and procurement roles. Werner currently serves as the Head of Commercial, Procurement & Supply Chain at Ventient Energy, where they are responsible for establishing and maintaining a procurement function to achieve commercial value across the company's portfolio. Prior to this, Werner worked as a Commercial Lead at Flotation Energy Plc, overseeing project procurement and contract management. Werner also held the position of Commercial and Procurement Manager at Consolidated Power Projects, where they managed procurement, commercial, logistics, insurance, and legal functions. Additionally, Werner has experience as a Commercial Manager at a deregistered company and as the Head of Commercial Execution and Procurement at thyssenkrupp. Werner has also worked in various commercially-focused roles at Tenova Mining & Minerals, Hatch, and Eskom along their career.

Werner Burger's education history includes a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree from Stellenbosch University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1990. In 1991, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Honors degree at Stellenbosch University. Werner went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria from 2006 to 2008. More recently, in 2018 and 2019, Werner obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting with a focus on Financial Forensics and Fraud Investigation from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria.
