Ashlee Nishiya

Ashlee Nishiya is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Coordinator for Library, Media, Reading, and Literacy at the Ventura County Office of Education since August 2021. Prior to this role, Ashlee worked as a Librarian at Ojai Valley School from August 2015 to August 2021, and as an English Teacher at Oxnard Unified High School District from August 2014 to June 2015, where responsibilities included curriculum planning for English courses. Ashlee has also held positions as a Young Adult Librarian at Moorpark City Library and Teacher Librarian at Leander ISD, focusing on library programming, collection development, and community partnerships. Ashlee began the education career as an English Teacher at McNeil High School, responsible for English I and II instruction. Educational credentials include a Master of Library & Information Science from the University of North Texas, a Master of Arts in English from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from UC Santa Barbara.
