Premnath Venugopalan has over 25 years of experience in technology advancement and commercialisation, currently serving as the Head of NCL Innovations at the National Chemical Laboratory since June 1997. Premnath has previously held significant roles, including Scientist in Polymer Science & Engineering and Head of the Intellectual Property Group at NCL. Premnath is also the Founder Director of Venture Center and has co-founded companies such as Serigen Mediproducts, focused on tissue regeneration products, and Orthocrafts Innovations Pvt Ltd, specializing in synthetic biodegradable polymeric implants. Previous experience includes serving as Director at CSIR-Tech Pvt Ltd from May 2011 to June 2014. Premnath holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, along with further education in New Venture Development from the University of Cambridge.
