Frits Metz has a diverse work experience in the energy industry, with a focus on start-up management and operations coordination. Frits has held various roles at different companies, starting from their earliest role as a Commissioning & Operations employee at BP in 2008. Frits then went on to work at PTTEP as a SIMOPS & PTW Coordinator in 2011 and later joined KBR, Inc. as an Operations Manager in 2012. Frits also worked at TOTAL as a SIMOPS Coordinator in 2014 and at BP again as a Lead Commissioning Engineer later that year. Frits then moved on to KBR, Inc. as an Operations Procedure Coordinator in 2015 and worked as a Commissioning Superintendent at JGC Construction International from 2016 to 2017. Frits then joined IHI E&C International Corporation, where they held multiple roles including CSU Lead, Start Up Superintendent, and Start Up Manager for the Elba Island LNG project. Frits then worked at Kiewit as a Start Up Manager from 2020 to 2023, overseeing the start-up of the Calcasieu Pass LNG facility. Currently, Frits is serving as the Vice President of Operations Assurance at Venture Global LNG, responsible for the successful transition of their projects from start-up to commercial operation.
Frits Metz completed their Matriculated degree at Ermelo High School from 1973-1977. Prior to that, they attended Van der Merwe Primary School from 1969-1972 and Vondel school Amersfoort from 1965-1968. Frits then pursued further education at Pretoria Technicon from 1981-1983, earning a NDT degree in Electrical Engineering (Instruments).
