Max Taves has accumulated extensive work experience in various roles within the fields of public relations, journalism, and brand strategy. Max currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Venture PR, where they oversee thought leadership for venture capital firms and startups. Prior to this, they founded Synthesis Media LLC, a strategic communications agency catering to venture capitalists and founders. Max has also worked as a Senior Writer and Brand Strategist at Jennifer Jones & Partners and served as Vice President of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association for Business Economics. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Staff Writer at CNET and as a Contributing Columnist and Reporter at The Wall Street Journal. Max's journalism experience also includes a post-graduate WSJ reporting internship and work as a Feature Writer at LA Weekly. Max started their career as a Staff Writer at Palisadian Post and worked as a Freelance Writer and Reporter for various newspapers, web sites, and magazines nationwide. Throughout their roles, Max has demonstrated expertise in analyzing business, technology, and economic trends, and utilizing their skills to effectively communicate and create brand messages for their clients.

Max Taves completed their Bachelor of Science degree in International Economics/Political Economics at Georgetown University from 2001 to 2005. Max then pursued a Doctoral program in Economic Anthropology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York from 2010 to 2011. Following this, they attended Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism, where they earned a Master's degree in Politics from 2011 to 2012.
