Tom Lappalainen

Tom Lappalainen is an experienced Electrical & Control Systems Engineer with a comprehensive background in the water and wastewater treatment industries. Currently employed at Veolia Water Technologies since April 2012, Tom specializes in quoting, design, programming, and commissioning of Electrical and PLC and HMI/SCADA systems for a variety of projects across sectors including food & beverage, municipal, power generation, and oil & gas. Prior roles include Systems Engineer at SAGE Automation, Electrical Engineer at Prime Water Australia, and Installation Engineer at Machinery Automation & Robotics, among others. Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics) from the University of Southern Queensland and multiple diplomas and certificates in electrical engineering from TAFE NSW, culminating with a Certificate III in Electrical Trade obtained in 1998.
