Catherine Furey, CEng MSc, BEng, MIEI, is a seasoned professional in the water management sector with extensive experience in operational and technical support. Currently serving as the National Potable Water Manager and General Manager for the South Region at Veolia since June 2009, Catherine oversees the operation and maintenance of potable water plants in southern Ireland, focusing on budgeting and quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance. Previous roles include Plant Manager for multiple sites implementing advanced water treatment technologies and Assistant Plant Manager at Clareville Water Treatment Plant, one of the largest privately operated facilities in Ireland. Catherine began their career as a Water Process Engineer, ensuring water quality across multiple treatment plants, and also gained early experience in road design with Monaghan County Council.
