Annie Chen is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in immigration law and justice initiatives. Currently serving as the Initiative Director for Advancing Universal Representation at the Vera Institute of Justice since January 2013, Annie has also held multiple positions within the organization, including Program Director and Associate Program Director for the Center on Immigration and Justice. Prior to this, Annie worked at DLA Piper as an Associate focusing on litigation, and as an Attorney in the Immigration Law Unit at the Legal Aid Society, representing detained clients in removal proceedings. Earlier experiences include a legal internship at The Bronx Defenders and a role as a Research Associate in the Democracy Program at the Brennan Center for Justice. Annie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
