Kerry Cooper

Kerry Cooper has extensive work experience in the medical field, with a focus on nephrology and medical affairs. Kerry is currently the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Vera Therapeutics, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, Kerry served as the SVP of Medical Affairs at ProKidney Corp. from July 2022 to May 2023. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at AstraZeneca, where they held various roles including Global Clinical Practice Change Leader, Renal and Vice President of US Medical Affairs, Renal Cardio. Kerry also has experience at Amgen, where they served as the Global Medical Affairs Leader in Nephrology and Bone and the US Medical Leader in the Nephrology Franchise. Before Amgen, they worked as a Nephrologist and Dialysis Unit Medical Director at Arizona Kidney Disease & Hypertension Center and Scottsdale Nephrology. Kerry began their career as a medical professional, holding positions at Yale School of Medicine and Oregon Health Sciences University.

Kerry Cooper completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at Yale University School of Medicine from 1975 to 1979. Kerry then went on to pursue an Internal Medicine Residency Program from 1979 to 1982 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. After that, they specialized in Nephrology and completed a Nephrology Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine from 1982 to 1985.
