Joanna Sylman

Joanna Sylman is currently the Senior Manager of Data and Science at Verana Health since July 2024. Previously, Joanna held multiple roles at Komodo Health from November 2018 to June 2024, including Data Science Manager, Technical Lead, and Data Scientist. Prior experience includes serving as a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine from October 2016 to November 2018, where Joanna participated in the NCI and VA Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program. Joanna also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at OHSU from March 2016 to October 2018, focused on characterizing blood clots' physical biology. Earlier research positions included roles at the University of Colorado Health and McGill University. Joanna earned a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2015 and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in 2009.
