Chief Customer Officer at Vercel

Paul Staelin has held various executive and leadership roles throughout their career. Starting in 1994, they co-founded and served as President of emPower, an Electric Vehicle start-up, where they oversaw product development, marketing, and channel development. In 2000, they worked as a Product Manager at Sun Microsystems. From 2001 to 2004, Staelin served as a Product Line Manager at Siebel Systems, where they managed and developed go-to-market strategies for the Siebel Sales Analytics application.

Staelin's most recent role was as Chief Customer Officer at Vercel, starting in 2023. Paul was responsible for Vercel's global customer experience, focusing on customer success, professional services, and customer support. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, Staelin served as VP of Customer Success & Services at Alteryx and Vice President of Customer Success at Trifacta. In these roles, they led customer experience efforts, integrating departments and delivering successful use cases to foster adoption.

Before joining Trifacta, Staelin held various roles at Birst, starting as VP of Product Marketing and co-founder in 2004. Paul eventually became the Chief Customer Officer, where they developed and delivered a seamless customer experience, resulting in higher renewal and upsell rates. Staelin also played key roles in go-to-market efforts, operations, and customer success at Birst.

Throughout their career, Staelin has demonstrated success in developing and delivering customer-focused strategies and driving business growth.

Paul Staelin earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in the years 1989 to 1993. Paul then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1993 to 1994. Later, Paul attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Furthermore, they also hold a certification in Trifacta Data Wrangler from Trifacta, which they obtained in July 2021.
