Mary Reames has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mary currently works at Verdani Partners as the Associate Director of Communications. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Communications Manager and Communications Manager at Verdani Partners. In addition, they were the Associate Communications Manager, where they were responsible for preparing reports, newsletters, and educational materials. Before joining Verdani Partners, Mary worked at Leonardo Academy as a Sustainability Project Manager, handling LEED for Existing Buildings consulting and serving as the lead reviewer for the organization. Mary also volunteered as a Project Manager for World Green, a sustainability website. In the early stages of their career, Mary was an Attorney-Editor at the State Bar of Wisconsin and an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the City of Chicago Law Department.
Mary Reames has a strong educational background in sustainable management, environmental law, and sociology/anthropology. Mary earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Sustainable Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, completing their studies between 2009 and 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Environmental Law from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1992 to 1995. Mary also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Carleton College, which they received between 1987 and 1991.
In addition to their formal education, Mary Reames has obtained certifications in the field. Mary became a TRUE Advisor through Green Business Certification, Inc. in May 2018, showing their expertise in waste reduction and sustainable resource management. Furthermore, in September 2013, they became a LEED Accredited Professional through the Green Building Certification Institute, demonstrating their knowledge and skills in green building and sustainable design.
