Guillermo Barbadillo Villanueva

Guillermo Barbadillo Villanueva has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Guillermo is currently working as an AI Research Lead at Veridas since January 2022. Prior to this, from January 2019 to January 2022, they worked as a Data Scientist at the same company.

Before joining Veridas, Guillermo worked at ironbar.ai as a Data Scientist. During their free time, they actively participated in AI projects and challenges, particularly in Kaggle, where they achieved a Master rank. Guillermo'sexpertise lies in applying deep learning to computer vision, as well as working with structured data and text.

From 2012 to 2019, Guillermo worked at das-Nano as a Data Scientist, where they developed the core AI system for Lynx, The Contactless Counting System. Guillermo also held the role of R&D Engineer at das-Nano from November 2012 to December 2014, engaging in activities such as magnetic nanoparticles, electronics, artificial intelligence, CAD design, simulations, PCB designing, and exhibiting in trade fairs.

Guillermo also had experiences at other organizations. Guillermo worked at Fundación Fuentes Dutor from April 2013 to April 2014, where they designed a device for controlled drug delivery using nanotechnology, with a focus on the ear. At Universidad Pública de Navarra, they designed, built, and programmed a sumo robot for their final year project from September 2011 to September 2012. Guillermo also had a summer internship in robotics at the University of Hertfordshire's Adaptive Systems Research Group from June 2011 to August 2011, where they provided a humanoid robot, KASPAR, with tactile artificial skin using FSR pressure sensors and an Arduino board. Moreover, Guillermo obtained a CSIC Introduction to Research Grant and worked at IRI (Industrial Robotic Institute) in Barcelona from June 2010 to August 2010, where they redesigned the foot of a Robonova humanoid robot to enhance its ability to sense pressure.

Additionally, Guillermo served as a Corresponsal Juvenil at Casa de la Juventud de Pamplona from September 2005 to June 2007. In this role, they collaborated with a partner to inform fellow students about various opportunities, such as grants, scholarships, trips, and exchanges, and maintained an informational panel in the educational center.
