Jon Pierowicz

Jon Pierowicz is the Founder and President of Upstate Independence, an organization focused on establishing a new and independent state in Upstate, since July 2023. Pierowicz currently serves as General Counsel for VeriTX and previously held the same role at Viridi Parente, Inc. from July 2021 to August 2022. As a co-founder, Pierowicz led Bronze Trident as Chief Executive Officer from March 2021 to March 2022. Prior experience includes working as an Associate at Rupp Baase Pfalzgraf Cunningham LLC and Phillips Lytle LLP, with a specialization in land, environment, and energy law, as well as at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in finance. Pierowicz served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps from August 2008 to August 2012. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government from Wesleyan University.
