Ben Draffin

Ben Draffin is a seasoned security engineer currently working at Verkada, specializing in full stack security engineering since February 2023. In addition to this role, Ben serves as Chairperson of the Board for Decentered Arts, a non-profit focused on community resilience through art. Ben also advises on trusted document concierge services at The Best Notary since September 2021. Previous positions include Technology Lead at a startup, Security Lead at Magic where efforts were directed towards building a passwordless web, and Senior Software Engineer at Box working on intelligent security solutions. Ben co-founded Zense Inc., contributing to the development of smartphone authentication systems, and has experience as an Affiliate Researcher at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and a CERT Cybersecurity Intern. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Information Technology and Information Security from Carnegie Mellon University, a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and coursework in Computer Science at Stanford University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
