Jack Barker

Jack Barker is an experienced Offshore Production Mechanical Technician currently working with Vermilion Energy since June 2023, specializing in critical breakdown repairs and planned maintenance at the Wandoo Field. Prior to this role, Jack held positions as an Offshore FPSO Mechanical Technician with Legeneering, a Drill Rig Mechanic at Redline Drill & Blast PTY LTD, and an Operator/Maintainer at Zenith Energy Ltd. Jack's extensive background in mechanical maintenance includes significant experience on the Ocean Monarch ultra-deep water semi-submersible rig with Diamond Offshore, as well as various roles in the Royal Australian Navy, where Jack developed skills in hydraulic systems, power generation, and marine propulsion systems. Educational qualifications include a Diploma of Engineering and multiple certifications in mechanical fitting and hydraulics, complemented by hands-on experience as a commercial diver.
