Maurits Waaijenberg

Maurits Waaijenberg is a seasoned Facility Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving at Vermilion Energy since September 2023. Previously, Maurits held similar roles at EBN B.V. and Xonoxx Technologies, focusing on energy storage projects and the Athos project, which aims to develop CO2 infrastructure in the North Sea Canal area. An accomplished leader, Maurits was Chairman of Nexstep, promoting collaboration in the decommissioning of oil and gas infrastructure, and has over 13 years of experience at Wintershall Noordzee, contributing to offshore installations and pipeline engineering. Early career began at Clyde Petroleum and involved committee work for NEN in standards for offshore pipelines. Maurits holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Technology from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
