Matthew Ward is an experienced public health professional with a focus on emergency preparedness and disaster response. Currently serving as an Emergency Preparedness Public Health Specialist at the Vermont Department of Health since November 2023, Matthew has previously held significant roles including Disaster Program Manager at the American Red Cross and Ebola Response Coordinator at Global Communities, where responsibilities involved the management and safety of over 120 staff members. Matthew's expertise extends to technical advisory roles with The Carter Center, where crucial interventions against Guinea Worm Disease were implemented. Academic credentials include a Master's Degree in Public Health from Tulane University and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Shepherd University.
