Emily Cohen has had a diverse range of work experience. Emily currently serves as the Director of Community Resources at Vermont Foodbank since November 2020. Prior to this role, they worked at Vermont Foodbank as the Senior and Adult Programs Manager from October 2017 to September 2020. Emily also worked at Slide Ranch as the Program Director from June 2011 to January 2017, where they were responsible for various educational programs and staff management. Before that, they served as the Program Coordinator at Slide Ranch from January 2010 to May 2011. Emily's earlier experience includes working as an Assistant Farm Manager/Farm Apprentice at Singing Cedars Farmstead from May 2008 to July 2009, and as Thousand Kites at Appalshop in February and March 2009. Emily began their career as a Lead Tutor at Making Waves Education Program in October 2004 and worked there until August 2007, where they supported at-risk high school students and organized various educational activities.

Emily Cohen completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, attending from 1998 to 2003. In 2011, they also received training as a School Garden Teacher from the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center.
