Scott Murphy

Scott Murphy has extensive experience in education and journalism. Currently a Teacher at Vermont Hills Family Life Center since August 2016, Scott previously served as a Long Term Substitute Teacher at Portland Public Schools, where music was taught across all grade levels. Prior roles include Teacher/Leader at Ex-Academy and a leadership position at Schools Uniting Neighborhoods. In journalism, Scott was the Arts and Entertainment Editor for Salt Lake Magazine and held roles at The Salt Lake Tribune, including Copy Editor and Communities Editor, where statewide news coverage was coordinated. Scott earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marylhurst University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in Political Science from Arkansas State University.
