Salimzhan Gafurov

Salimzhan Gafurov is currently the Director of Advanced Research & Technology and Director of Software Development at Verne, focusing on the software development of an urban autonomous mobility platform since October 2022. Previously, Salimzhan served as Head of Vehicle AI and Director of the Robotics Department at OZON.ru, overseeing the design and development of various autonomous vehicles from July 2021 to January 2023. Other notable positions include Head of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Systems Centre at JSC NIIAS and Head of Laboratory at Innopolis University, engaging in autonomous vehicle research and development. With a strong academic background, Salimzhan holds multiple degrees, including a PhD from LUT University in Aeronautics and various engineering degrees from Samara State Aerospace University, demonstrating a comprehensive expertise in robotics, artificial intelligence, and aeronautical engineering.
