Markku Heikura

Markku Heikura has extensive experience in information technology and management, currently serving as the Director General and CIO of Verohallinto - Finnish Tax Administration since August 2009. Prior to this role, Markku held the position of CIO at VTT from February 2001 to July 2009 and worked as a consultant at UCASYS for a brief period. Markku's career began at the Finnish State Treasury as CIO, followed by leadership roles as Head of IT Department at Oy Sinebrychoff Ab and Partek Betoniteollisuus Oy, where responsibilities included project management. Markku Heikura holds an MSC in Engineering with a focus on Automation and Information Technology in Process Technics from the University of Oulu, obtained between 1980 and 1986.
