Carlo Simonelli has a strong background in sports science and research. Carlo currently holds the position of Head of Sport Science and Research at Vero Volley Monza. Prior to this, they were a founding partner and personal trainer at Shape - the next step of wellness since 2006. Carlo has also worked as a Head of strength and conditioning for Pallamano Cassano Magnago and held the position of Principal Lecturer at Università degli Studi dell'Insubria from 2005 to 2021. Additionally, they have experience as a Head of performance - Strength And Conditioning Coach for various football clubs including Aurora Pro Patria 1919 S.R.L., Calcio Lecco 1912 SpA, Milano City FC, and AC Reggiana 1919. Carlo also worked as a Strength And Conditioning Coach for Pallavolo Lugano.
Carlo Simonelli pursued their education in the field of sports and exercise science. Carlo obtained a B.Sc. degree in Sport and Exercise Science from I.S.E.F. della Lombardia in 1999. Following this, they completed their M.Sc. in Sport and Exercise Science from the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2001. Furthermore, they pursued a Master's program on technologically advanced methods and tools for interacting with sports medicine at Politecnico di Milano in 2002. In 2016-2017, Carlo obtained a Diploma in Football Medicine from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Carlo also holds various additional certifications, including Social and Behavioral Research from the CITI Program in 2022, Statistics with R from Coursera in 2021, Applied Anatomy of the Locomotor System from edX in 2019, and Professional Athletic Trainer from the FIGC - Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio in 2002.
