Mariana Fernandez is currently serving as the Social and Environmental Safeguards Manager for the Sustainable Development Program at Verra, focusing on the revision of safeguard requirements and capacity building. Mariana has extensive experience in quality assurance and carbon portfolio management, previously leading the QAQC team at South Pole. Additional roles include Workshop Facilitator at La Fresque du Climat, Communications Officer at The International Land and Forest Tenure Facility, and Environmental Consultant for UNDP. With a strong academic background in Environmental Science and Sustainable Development from institutions such as Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Mariana has demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement, project management, and sustainable market strategies throughout a robust career spanning various organizations.
