Suraj A. Vanniarachchy

Suraj A. Vanniarachchy is a seasoned professional in the field of environmental management and carbon project development, currently serving as Vice President Global Carbon at Macquarie Group since February 2022. Suraj holds multiple advisory roles, including membership in the VCS Program Advisory Group, Forest Carbon Innovations Group, and Blue Carbon Working Group at Verra since January 2020, where significant efforts are directed towards advancing coastal wetland restoration and conservation. Additional experience includes serving as a Technical Advisory Committee member at Plan Vivo Foundation, Advisor at Fair Carbon, and past roles with organizations such as INBAR, Natural Capital Partners, Worldview International Foundation, and The Carbon Consulting Company. Suraj's academic background includes a Master's degree in Environment Management from the University of Colombo and a BSc (Hons) in Forestry & Environmental Science from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
