Fabio Assandri

Fabio Assandri has extensive experience in business development and research within the chemical industry, currently serving as the Business Development & Licensing VP and Head of R&D at Versalis since February 2012. Fabio's previous roles include General Manager at Matrica S.p.A. from May 2018 to January 2020, where a joint venture was established between Versalis and Novamont to produce chemical intermediates from vegetable oils, and Managing Director at NewCo Tech S.p.A. from May 2015 to July 2018, a joint venture focused on developing butadiene production technology from sugars. Prior to these positions, Fabio was the Process Technology Manager at Polimeri Europa from December 2009 to February 2012. Fabio holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
