Barry Chaiken, MD has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Barry is currently the Global Head Healthcare at Versalytix since 2023. Prior to that, they were the President of DocsNetwork Ltd. for over 30 years. In this role, they provided expertise in quality and patient safety, assisted in the creation of medical software products, and served as a consultant and guest lecturer on various healthcare topics.

Barry also worked as an Author at Navigating the Code where they examined the need for innovation in healthcare practices. Barry held the position of Clinical Lead at Salesforce / Tableau Software from 2018 to 2021, where they drove the use of data visualization for clinicians and provided healthcare policy expertise.

Barry Chaiken was an Adjunct Professor at Boston University from 2013 to 2020 and Chief Medical Information Officer at Infor from 2013 to 2016. Barry provided strategic guidance, served as a clinical corporate spokesperson, and led a clinical team focused on analytics at Infor.

During their tenure on the Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) Board of Directors from 2006 to 2010, they served as the Chair and Board Liaison to the HIMSS Europe Council. Barry also worked as an Associate Chief Medical Officer at BearingPoint, where they delivered thought leadership on clinical information technology, led the development of a health IT clinical content governance model, and built a quality and patient safety website.

Barry Chaiken's earlier experience includes the role of Vice President, Medical Affairs at McKesson from 1997 to 2003. In this position, they provided clinical liaison support, acted as a spokesperson for patient safety and information technology, and developed relationships with healthcare organizations.

Barry Chaiken, MD has a diverse education history spanning various academic institutions. Barry obtained their MD degree from the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University where they studied medicine. Additionally, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a focus on Health Services Administration from the prestigious Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology at the University at Albany, SUNY.
