Amaan Kazerouni

Amaan Kazerouni is a research scientist specializing in medicinal chemistry at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since January 2022. Prior to this role, Amaan served as a postdoctoral associate at Yale University under the supervision of Jonathan A. Ellman, focusing on diastereoselective visible light-mediated epimerization of N-heterocycles. Amaan's academic journey includes significant experience as a graduate research assistant at Emory University, where development of synthetic routes for ribosomally synthesized peptides was the primary focus. Amaan also held various teaching positions, including graduate student instructor and mentor, and gained experience in NMR spectroscopy instruction and maintenance. Amaan earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Emory University, following a B.S. in Chemistry with a biochemistry concentration from the University of West Georgia.
