Apoorva Rao

Apoorva Rao is a Translational Engineering Scientific Associate at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since July 2023. Previously, Apoorva gained experience as an R&D Engineer co-op at Boston Scientific and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for courses in Managerial Decision Making and Introduction to Engineering at Brown University from September 2021 to June 2022. A background in biotechnology includes a role as a Biotechnology Engineer at SpOvum Technologies, where responsibilities involved embryo culture, ICSI, and device testing for IVF. Earlier internships at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela and the Center for Incubation, Innovation Research and Consultancy focused on tissue engineering, bio-material synthesis, and molecular biology techniques. Apoorva holds a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Brown University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering.
