Esther Berden

Esther Berden is a seasoned public policy professional with extensive experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director of Public Policy and Head of International Public Policy at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since August 2021, Esther previously held roles at Bristol Myers Squibb and Celgene, focusing on gene and cell therapies and European policy stakeholder engagement. Esther's earlier career includes positions at VVD Parliament as a Senior Policy Advisor and at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs as a Senior Economic Policy Advisor. Esther's educational background includes a Master’s degree in International Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, alongside specialized training in health technology assessment and leadership from prestigious institutions such as CELforPharma and the Harvard Kennedy School.
