Micaella Fagan

Micaella Fagan, PhD, is a seasoned pharmacologist currently serving as the Principal Research Scientist (Senior Manager) at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since January 2020, following a tenure as a Scientist at Zafgen, Inc. from 2017 to 2019, where management of in vivo pharmacology studies was instrumental in evaluating small molecule drug candidates. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship and PhD candidacy at Tufts University School of Medicine, where Micaella focused on the effects of mGluR5 in glucose and lipid homeostasis, alongside roles as a course lecturer and Graduate Student Council President. Early research fellowship work at the National Institute of Mental Health involved the exploration of the serotonin system's role in anxiety disorders and major depression. Micaella holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Tufts University and a B.S. in Psychology with a Neuroscience Track from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
