Souvik Biswas

Souvik Biswas is a seasoned professional in the field of gene therapy and biochemistry, currently serving as Senior Director of Non-Viral Gene Therapy at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since November 2023. Prior to this role, Souvik held various positions at Verve Therapeutics from September 2019 to November 2023, including Director of Discovery Chemistry and RNA Formulation, Principal Scientist, and Senior Scientist. Souvik's experience at Moderna Therapeutics as a Scientist in Gene Delivery spanned from March 2016 to September 2019. Earlier academic endeavors include a postdoctoral researcher position at The University of British Columbia, focusing on magnetic-lipid nanohybrids and siRNA delivery, and a visiting postdoctoral fellow role at the National Cancer Institute, where significant work on gold nanoparticles for cancer therapy was conducted. Souvik earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Louisville and a Master of Science in Chemistry from Delhi University.
