Tara MacCannell

Tara MacCannell serves as the Global Head and Executive Director of Real-World Evidence at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Previously, Tara held multiple senior leadership positions at Gilead Sciences, including Head of Real World Evidence, Global Value & Access, and Sr Director of Medical Affairs, Global Patient Solutions. Additional experience includes roles as COVID-19 Outbreak Consultant for the County of Santa Clara, Epidemiologist at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Epidemiologist/Infection Preventionist at Calgary Health Region. Tara is advancing academic credentials with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology and a Master of Science (MSc) in Hospital Epidemiology, both from the University of Calgary.
