Vic Terry

Head of Digital Systems at Vertical Aerospace

Vic Terry is currently the head of digital systems at Vertical Aerospace. Prior to this, they worked as the category technical lead at Dyson from April 2015 to October 2017. In this role, they oversaw the development of several products within the professional category, which included hand dryers and lighting. Vic also provided engineering guidance and leadership to a medium sized multi-disciplinary team that was located globally.

Terry has successfully balanced formal systems engineering and agile approaches by focusing the team on just the key value-add aspects of both methods to achieve fast and robust development in a rapidly changing environment. Vic has also been instrumental in identifying and managing activities to progress the juvenile Lighting category towards an established one. To do this, they have ensured that the advanced tools / skills that were lacking to efficiently solve problems were developed, such as machine learning, analytics and targeted modularity / reuse.

Vic Terry has a MEng in Electronic Engineering with Space Science and Technology Hons. from the University of Bath. They also have A-Levels in Computing, Electronics, Maths, and Physics from Havant College.

Vic Terry reports to Stephen Fitzpatrick, Founder & CEO. They work with Tim Williams - Chief Engineer, Paul Harper - Head of Certification, and Lawrence Blakeley - Head of Powertrain.
