Michael Anderson

Chief Medical Officer at Verto Health

Dr. Michael Anderson is the Chief Medical Officer at Verto Health. Michael has dedicated their career to improving access to quality healthcare for all patients, with a particular focus on cancer care.

Michael began their career as a general surgeon at Royal Victoria Hospital in 2004. In 2007, they joined Cancer Care Ontario as the Regional Surgical Oncology Lead. In this role, they worked to improve the quality of surgical cancer care across the province. Michael also served as the Regional Indigenous Cancer Lead from 2019 to 2021.

In 2008, Dr. Anderson co-founded the Georgian Bay Oncology Group, where they served as Co-Director until 2015. Michael then joined the University of Toronto as a faculty member in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

Most recently, Dr. Anderson was the Clinical Associate at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at Sinai Health System. Michael has also held positions at University Health Network and Verto Health.

Dr. Michael Anderson is a general surgeon who obtained their medical degree from Queen's University. Michael then pursued a Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of Toronto. Currently, they are completing a PhD in Indigenous Health at the University of Toronto, and is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both the clinician investigator program and FRCSC.

They are on a team with Ellie Doroshenko - VP, Business Development, Androu Arsanious - VP, Sales, and Anna Millar - CFO. Their manager is Michael Millar, Founder, CEO.
