Igor Kersic

Igor Kersic has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Igor is currently working as a Product Manager at Ververica, where they are involved in the original creation of Apache Flink®.

Before that, Igor worked at Ericsson Telecommunications Inc., where they held several positions. As the Platform Chief Architect, they governed the cross-domain platform design and deployment core team, and aligned the backlogs of multiple platform teams. Igor also served as the Common Infrastructure Chief Architect, responsible for the BSS Cloud Native Common Infrastructure direction architecture. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Software Architect and Cloud Native Transformation Chief Architect, leading the technical roadmap and requirements for BSS Cloud Native transformation.

Prior to Ericsson, Igor worked as a Senior Solution Architect and an Experienced Solution Architect at Sitronics Telecom Solutions. Igor was responsible for service portfolio development and engagement strategy. Igor also mentored and expanded the service team.

Igor started their career as a Research & Development Engineer at Institute Mihajlo Pupin, where they designed and developed communication protocols software for the energy industry.

Before joining Ververica, Igor worked as a BSCS Consultant at LHS and as a Customer Support Team Lead and Senior Software Developer at FIS, where they managed teams and developed features for banking products.

Overall, Igor Kersic has extensive experience in platform architecture, cloud native transformation, solution architecture, and software development across various industries.

Igor Kersic completed their undergraduate education at the University of Belgrade from 1996 to 2002, earning an M.Sc. degree in Electronics. In 2007, they pursued further studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague, specializing in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and obtaining a Master of Science - MS degree. In 2015, Igor attended various courses at HP Education Services, including Managing HP 3PAR StoreServ I, HP Converged System Administration, Managing HP 3PAR StoreServ II, and VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V6.0]. In addition to their formal education, Igor Kersic has obtained several certifications, including Architect Certification for Apache Cassandra 2.x from O'Reilly Media in May 2016, 3PAR + HP Convergent System Administration from HP in November 2015, Leadership for Professionals from Ericsson in June 2015, VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization from VMware in March 2015, Cloud Certified Architect from Arcitura Education Inc. in February 2015, Certified Cloud Professional from Arcitura Education Inc. in October 2014, CBiO 3.01 Associate Certification from Ericsson in June 2013, and Solution Architect Experienced Certified from Ericsson in June 2013.
